The Kitchen’s Ken Lorber To Receive The 2026 EGA Hermes Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations and kudos to The Kitchen’s President/CEO Ken Lorber on receiving the 2026 EGA Hermes Award for Lifetime Achievement.

From New York to Miami to Los Angeles and beyond, Ken has been at the forefront of the industry for over five decades.

“I quit college just six credits short of receiving my BA in Communications to take a job in production and haven’t looked back. This industry has my heart and soul, and it has been an honor and a privilege to be there for so many positive and exciting and sometimes earth-shattering changes over the years,” Ken Lorber explained. “From the introduction of videotape to a stalwart film industry in the ‘70’s, to bringing storyboards to life in creating videomatics, a rough form of test commercials for the advertising business, which are still very much used to animate storyboard ideas today, to building three video post facilities in the ‘80’s, as well leading the Hispanic language TV industry renaissance in South Florida, to building and seeing the language localization business flourish for The Kitchen over the past 25 years worldwide….It’s been a whirlwind of fun and challenges and I’d love to do it all again!”

“For the record, I finally received my BA just a month ago, based on my Life Work and with this EGA Lifetime Achievement honor, I do feel as though I’ve truly been blessed,” Lorber concluded. “I feel so very lucky to have been deep in the trenches, so to speak, witnessing where our industry came from and can only guess what’s on the horizon.”

“Two Prime Time Emmys, an Achievement in Media nod from the National Association of Broadcasters, and a Lifetime Achievement recognition from my peers…..I can only say, wow and thank you, thank you, thank you!”
