THE KITCHEN: 25 YEARS AS A GLOBAL LANGUAGE POWERHOUSE

The Kitchen, the entertainment industry’s only Emmy Award Winning language localization studio, is celebrating its 25th year as a global language service provider, recognizing its team, clients, and partners for their continued support and enthusiasm.

“Cinco de Mayo (May 5) is our actual anniversary. We are proud to have reached this milestone and grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey,” said Ken Lorber, Founding Partner, President, and CEO.

Founded in 2001 in Miami Beach, The Kitchen—together with its former parent company TM Systems—first gained industry recognition by earning two Primetime Emmy® Awards for its end-to-end language software suite covering translation, dubbing, subtitling, and quality control. While the software has since been replaced with more advanced systems, the Emmy wins did immediately put The Kitchen in the forefront of the global localization world. The company later received the National Association of Broadcasters’ AIM Award for Achievement in Media as well.

Originally a three-person operation, The Kitchen has grown into a five-floor, state-of-the-art facility in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District with 17 dubbing suites and a global network of linguists, voice talent, and production specialists. Its clients include: NBCUniversal, Paramount, Discovery, ITV, BBC, Hallmark, FOX, Sony, and ZDF.

International expansion began with The Kitchen EMEA in 2015, followed by a Madrid-based language hub and playout center in 2023, enabling near 24/7 global service coverage. In 2024, the company established a Board of Global Influencers/Ambassadors to provide international industry insight.

The Kitchen London serves as the company’s European sales hub under Director of Global Sales Liz Clarke, a seasoned industry professional.

The Kitchen’s leadership team includes Ken Lorber, CEO and Co-Founder; Deeny Kaplan, Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder;  ; Eutdel Garcia, VP Technology and Facilities; Max Wynen, VP Global Operations; and Chief Strategy Advisor, Josh Pine. Together, the team represents more than 150 years of combined industry experience.

Looking ahead, The Kitchen plans continued domestic and global expansion, including a new Los Angeles studio and language hub designed to support major studios and international distributors. The West Coast addition is expected to be on board by Q3 of this year.

“The industry continues to evolve, and so do we,” Lorber said. “Our focus remains on delivering innovative solutions that meet the changing needs of our clients, based on the latest proven technology. We’ve found that our clients do relay on us to tell them when it’s time to make the next move, or to integrate new technology.  That’s a benefit of being a trusted, long-term language provider.”

The company expects 2026 to be a year of growth and expansion across its global operations and looks forward to the next 25 years!
