Carlos Marcano Promoted to Technical Operations Manager at The Kitchen

MIAMI: Carlos Marcano has been promoted to Technical Operations Manager at The Kitchen, upped from Production Systems Engineer. In his new position, Carlos will oversee the studio’s team of post-production technicians who work in all areas, from media ingestion to laybacks and deliveries.

Carlos first joined The Kitchen nine years ago as an Artistic Director/Recordist. After his time within the production team, he then transferred to the post-production/IT side of the company, where he oversaw the upkeep and maintenance of the studio’s 17 dubbing suites and mixing suites, in addition to IT supervision for all personnel.

“Carlos has a great deal of attention for details, has tremendous time management skills and just the right attitude to deal with our multi-lingual and diverse personnel. He also excels in completing whatever engineering tasks come along on a day to day basis.” stated Eutdel Garcia, Vice President of Operations and Technology at The Kitchen.

Originally from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Carlos relocated to Orlando at the age of 25. During his years in Puerto Rico, he worked as a professional musician, where he was a bassist, composer, and bandleader for bands and orchestras. Being from Puerto Rico his primary languages are both English and Spanish – and having worked with Brazilians throughout his life he’s proud to be able to hold a fluent conversation in Portuguese.

“My main priority coming into my new leadership role is to bring in a new perspective to the post-production team” states Carlos when sharing his goals in his new role. “I’ve been moving and working with different departments within The Kitchen over the years, and have seen different hurdles that the teams can come across in a production pipeline. I aim to organize a structure that anticipates these issues and allows our team members to work seamlessly together”.

“The biggest challenge for me is going to be managing all the different time zones our team members live and work in, as we have team members all over the world, from Miami to Brazil, Turkey to London to Spain and so on. I’m extremely proud of my team, their work ethic, the passion for their crafts, and their dedication to giving the best quality of work they possibly can. I look forward to improving our workflows, and continuing to work with this very talented production team” concluded Carlos.
